EIDO Burundi is headed by Pastor Joseph Sinibarura [above] who lives in Bujumbura the Capital City of Burundi.
He is very often away from his family while he ministers the Love of God within Bugenyuzi Commune found in Karusi Province of Central Burundi.
Some of his family & others from Bujumbura join him at weekends & other times to help with the work there.
His heart is for the ones who are most vulnerable as he sees them as having the greatest need.
He works particularly with The Batwa, a pygmy people indigenous to Burundi, who are the most marginalised people in Africa, found most of the time being rejected by the community around them.
They share the story of Jesus with them & at the same time they help them to improve their lives wherever it is possible.
However their means are always very limited, especially when measured against the great need there.
People with the kind of house as shown below they help to build a better house for them as ones such as these affect their lives negatively.
Any help you are led to give would be thankfully received.

People that we find living in houses such as this one shown above we try our best to build them a better place to live. It does not take as much as you might think to give them something much better to live in however the need is so great & our ability on our own to help continues to be very limited.
This lady is explaining to us about the house she is forced to live in. As can be seen the house is exposed to rain and the hot sun which makes it an extreme fire hazard. It is a big challenge for us to have to leave people like her living in conditions such as this. The truly amazing thing is that after receiving Jesus a person becomes happy no matter what for Jesus is the real source of joy and happiness. As you can see she is happy and smiling
This is the same lady in Church where she experienced the Love Of God. The act of building is hard as it requires a lot. We always teach the Body of Christ the need to show love to such marginalised people. As can be seen the Church is ready to support this outreach activity.
During our visits we cannot forget the children for they also need to experience God's Love from an early age. We usually do this through singing, playing and showing them love.
As we visit them in their homes we help them to do their daily work. Sometimes we find there is a need. Jesus is the primary need that a person can have all others are the secondary needs that needs also that the body of Christ to react this help the community to see Jesus in action and to glorify him is a really a better preaching tool
Pastor Joseph is seen helping these people find something to eat for tonight as they had the raw material but it requires someone with energy to grind it into flour for them to use. We found this man was very sick with a swollen tummy but he is not able to go to the hospital. It becomes such a big challenge when after preaching to them we have also to take him to the hospital. For to do such requires support that we often do not have. If we can we provide the required help but if we have no resources then all we can do is just pray and leave. It is not easy to have to walk away.
After the gospel we teach them how to live a transformed life.. so that they can bring more people to Jesus. We teach them how they can live with their partners.
The last house we visited was very interesting. This man was busy explaining to us about his life and how much he needed help. When Pastor Joseph explained who Jesus is he understood that in every thing he needs Jesus first. He accepted that he needed to welcome Jesus into his life. This visitation closed in a Word of Prayer of inviting Jesus into his heart and home.
